On July 13 the Ohio General Assembly approved a state budget that cuts Ohio’s Public Library Fund (PLF) $84.3 million over the next two years. This cut is substantially less than the approximate $227.3 million cut proposed by Gov. Ted Strickland, but this loss of funding will still have a significant impact on the services provided by Ohio’s public libraries. (For additional information click here.) Thanks to all the phone calls and emails to legislators from citizens across Ohio, public library funding cuts were less severe than they would have been. We are grateful for your incredible show of support and we will keep you informed about how these funding cuts will impact our Library.
